You drop the rear trailer or trailers and dock them one at a time.

Steer gently. Always park where you won’t have to back up. Use the scale at the terminal wherever possible and learn how to tell if you’re trailers are backwards by scale readings. Oh, and try to avoid having to pull doubles in snow. That doesn’t work very well.
Other than that, it isn’t bad. They turn corners a 53’ won’t.Trucker61016 and Speed_Drums Thank this. -

I much prefer doubles to 53 foot trailers. Making a right turn is so much easier. I live in fear when assigned a 53' thinking that I might forget and make a doubles right turn instead of a 53'.
Biggest problem is driving on slick roads with a light rear box and high wind. They do blow over in the wind.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Doubles use less room on a corner than a 53. I can turn a set of triples in the same space a 53 will use. On avoiding pulling a set on snow, we do not just park as soon as snow appears. We keep moving, through bad weather, slower than most, but doubles keep moving. It takes chains where a single trailer with twin screw drive axles will make it without chains, but doubles keep moving as best as possible.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Old triples line haul driver once said. Don't look in your mirrors. If you get to your destination and your missing the back box it's somewhere between where you started and where you are. Copy.
