My bed is 27 Feet long. The pipe is 14 feet long.

The supplier refused to load back to back which would cause the pipe to hang over 1 Foot. I was told they could be Fined since overhang is Illegal and out of DOT Regulations ?

What does the DOT Regulation state ? Could someone please post a link to the Regulation

    TIA

BTW, good job in securing the load so you didn't lose it. You'll figure it all out eventually.

In Tennessee you’re allowed up to a 45’ straight truck, I would assume that includes the overhang.

    bottom of page 3.

Tennessee also has one of the most unique way of measuring trailers to determine of they are over length or not. 50’ kingpin to rear of trailer or load. Anything over that requires a permit. Technically most of our 53’ flats are over length because they have a 30” kingpin depth. They only seem to enforce it on lowboys/RGN’s though.
