I briefly looked at a 2015 51'x102" a guy just bought. I was not impressed. For a nearly new trailer the steel and aluminum didn't lay flat as I think it should. The screws holding the wood and aluminum to the cross members were poorly placed. Some were at the very edge of the flat, some were centered as they should be, and some skimmed the vertical of the cross members. I didn't look any further.

I pulled a few empty ones last year. I wasn't impressed and I was trailer shopping at the time.

Ruthless, you will not be happy with that trailer. If you had a fleet then maybe I could see getting that trailer, but to be honest even then I would go a different route. When they first came out they were priced well but now the price has come up and the quality has not risen.

After reviewing the spec sheet I agree: cheap components and for only $2k less all in than a lot higher quality brand, seems like an easy decision.

What are you looking for step deck 48' spread? How nice do you want it?

Bout $35k nice. Got a fontaine infinity all set to go. Just gotta wire the money and wait on delivery.
Going combo for price and build. Don't want a wood floor, don't need all aluminum. -

Is that to replace the Pete?
Ruthless Thanks this. -
Not really. I need at least 2 trailers, to utilize at least one as a drop trailer. I'm borrowing out my flatbed to @KO1927 so therefore need to have another platform trailer available.
The Pete is useful, and much handier to put into tight spots. However to make a productive day for it I new to push off/turn down work for a trailer; which is much easier to come by.
I could sell or keep the Pete, be nicer to have the $$ to use for something that will make me more money in daily use.
Eg if I want something preloaded: not hard to drop a trailer at night after working during the day. But if I want to preload the Pete, I have to live load it.
The Pete would be much more profitable if I had even a part timer helping out. But using it, I am limited to only using it vs being able to swap trailers out.
Also: the guy that I use the Pete for the most is slacking; $4,200 over 90 days at this point.
All the other stuff I use it for is "here n there" work that I could generally make good money on but isn't at all dependable. I could go get a bunch more work for it, but not having a driver in it would only cause me to have to run it instead of pulling a trailer-with which work is more consistent and easier to come by.
