I disagree with you. the do not require you to purchase their truck, they make them avaiable to you because they are a lower cost investment that gets the job done. I own one and it works great!
    1. My single axle truck with forklift attachment handles any load I need to deliver.
    2. Yes, I have to drop my trailer and yes some sites are soft but I am smart enough to utilize pads to place under the dolly to support the trailer.
    3. Not true, I back into sites all the time with no issues. I know where the truck can go and not go, communicate this to the guest and place their materials where they want them. Utility lines are not an issue.
I am sorry to hear about your friend but this business has been great for me. It allows me to own my own business without alot of hassels (Menards does a TON of behind the sceens things that support me that I do not have to do), be home with my family EVERY night and make a good living. I understand that this is a business and not a job!
I would recomend this opportunity to anyone looking to own and operate their own delivery service!

Big difference between the guys delivering guest products and the guys pulling out of the DC's.

Menards DC (Midwest Manufacturing) O/O's had their rates reduced to .88cpm with the FSC taken away. Give me a break. Oh and lets not forget the "bonus program" that they are shoving down the O/O's throats that pays in "Gift Cards". You gonna put tires on your truck or fuel in the tank with their gift cards?

They demanded that my husband buy two trailers to continue pulling out of there. So we did. 6 months later they demanded that he pull their quad axle trailers, license for 92k and take a major hit in pay down to .88cpm with no more FSC passed to them. We got sick of the games and them jerking us around and left. We NEVER would sign their contract, which is a joke!

By leaving there, hubby makes in two days, what he made in four with MM.

This company is corporate greed at its finest. I refuse to even shop there now. I will drive 40 miles to Lowes or Home Depot before I support a company that will attempt to bankrupt hard working truckers for their own profit.

What killed me was they acted like they were doing him a favor with the gift card program. REALLY???

I never delivered to the DC's, but the company I drove for several years ago delivered shingles to individual Menards stores around the Midwest. Most were OK to deal with, but some were nightmares! Almost impossible to get to, (Clyborne Avenue in Chicago) no room to maneuver when you were there, "associates" who would take 2 hrs or more to unload 20 pallets off a flatbed, etc. We got a decent rate, but we were paid by the shingle manufacturer.

The BS meter always pegs out when somebody joins the forum and only makes a few posts praising a company others made legitimate complaints about.
