Just a warning to independent contractors who are thinking of getting on with QC in San Antonio Tx. I've been with them for a year now and am about to move on. The main reasons are 1: they mess with the rates all the time by lowering the linehaul amount without notice. As it is today they get money from the top by charging the I/C $240 for a pre load fee, out of that they pay $65 to the company driverthat do the pre load. Then they get an additional 35% from off the remainder. The I/C gets other 65%. The company gets 60% and I/C gets 40% plus all the expenses that go with running your truck . 2. If you love to be told lies and be treated like a company truck driver even though you own your own truck this is the place to be.

They mess up your paycheck every week by not paying you loads that you have done and are hoping that you be ignorant about checking on your pay. These people are thieves and liars. Stay away , dont be lured in by the 12K sign on bonus that you won't see.
Dont be fooled by 12K sign on bonus at Quality Carriers Inc, San Antonio Tx

There 1000s of examples just like this one ....... but some are $&@/$&
What part of this equation people do not understand???
These companies are here to make money!!! The more “o/o” do the job for them, they will continue abusing and exploiting you .
Do your own thing , be 100% independent, be freeeeeeee!!!rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
And as a company driver, get a big fat biblical lined journal with many pages.
Copy your load dispatches perfect into a page or two. With the necessary numbers.
Document the haul. Get a green or red x and check your pay slip carefully. Keep copies of the BOL associated with each load (After they are signed before they are turned in etc.)
When your pay is short, go see a DM somewhere in the company yard, open the big biblical journal and rattle off the trip numbers that are unpaid. See how his computer screen perfectly matches your page and you say two words.
Pay me. (Please)TokyoJoe, Voodoo Pyg, mjd4277 and 2 others Thank this. -
Company terminal or franchise?

As someone who has never, and has no desire, owned a truck, I infer, from reading posts and talking with owner ops, that the only way to really be “independent “ is to have your own authority and book your own loads.
Pretty much all these o/o companies get the same complaints. You get to own your truck (YIPPY!), but other than that you will be a company man.x1Heavy, bigblue19, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
From what I understand, your experience with them is dependent on the terminal, similar to what I experienced at Knight. They are each their own independent business with their own customers. If you’re getting screwed at one terminal, you could try and transfer to a different one. I don’t know too much about QC or if that’s an option for you.

Unfortunately, that type of “o/o” hurts this industry . Like someone here said . Their pimps are the one making money and setting the rules .
So , my advise will be : if you can’t handle to be 100% independent, then get out of this business. You are getting screwed and because of you we are getting screwed .x1Heavy and Frank Speak Thank this. -
