I was wondering if anyone has the Dometic heating and cooling unit in their truck.
I was offered one today for a helluva good price. It won't work though through my TriPac apu, but will through 120 v by plugging it in to an electric receptacle, which for me would work, as sometimes I'm parked at the docks of arena's and at times not allowed to run apu or idle.
So any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

Is this the RV rooftop type? If so there is a member here (leftlanetruckin) that has one on his truck. There is a thread floating around here about it.

Yes I use the Dometic ac unit that's installed within my Centramatic APU. Good quality and works very well. I think they make fridges for the truck too.

How well does it work? Will my Honda 3000 run it?

Bubba. I imagine it would work with your Honda 3000. The unit has 120 shore power.
The guy that's selling it has a few of them. i guess you can call them new old stock.( new in box )
Supposed to sell for close to $4000 so he say's but is selling them for $800 + installation.

the tripac doesn't have 110v, no generator, you have to use an inverter. but I don't think the units go for 4 grand, but 800 is a decent price

I'm interested in one of these next summer in my new 780 Volvo. It is a factory option so I'm figuring it is a good quality unit.

Confused; Is there any chance you could get me your buddy's info to buy one?

I wouldn't know if he had any left, it was close to 2 years ago I posted that.
The guy is in Springfield MO.

As I say I don't know if he'll have any left. He's not a buddy of mine, I bought my apu there years ago and I was at his place for something and he was selling them then.
