Today I parked for the night I shut down the engine and my dome light went off with the key....If I started the truck it would work as normal...that never happened before......it wouldn't work with the bunk or dash switch. I did notice a clicking noise coming out of the dash..it clicked for about 15-20 minuets than stopped and the dome lights worked as it should....any ideas?

The cluster is its own computer and can get locked up sometimes in an invalid state. The cluster controls your dome lighting. It should go to "sleep" after about 20 seconds after key off and the LCD display should go out. If this stays on, the cluster is staying awake for an invalid reason. Lots can cause this, but a quick reset usually fixes issues like this. The cluster has two breakers for it in the panel. One is "BAT" or battery supply, and the other is "IGN" or ignition powered. With the key off, you need to remove the "BAT" to kill all power to it in order to reset and reboot it. If it keeps happening, then anything like a faulty headlight switch button inside the PC board can be keeping it awake. If it does happen again, try to find what is making the clicking noise, probably a relay in the breaker panel.

Had same issue in a 2011 prostar . Like heavy d says it can be caused by any wierd electro issue. Mine seem to go away after replacing all the breakers and twisting the pins and ensuring the terminals on fuse block were there.. harness in those trucks.are very tight
