That will get you your license...that's it.
This breed of school is bad...especially in California.
Buyer Beware...
(Sure community colleges charge about that, but they get federal and state funding to make up the difference so they are able to deliver quality training, so for all the comments that will be said how your local CC charges that...training is TOTALLY different)
Average cost of truck-driver training according to the FMCSA is $4,000 as of 2008. If you go cheap, that is what you will get...cheap.spunkymonkey and SJ1985 Thank this. -
I called Roadmaster, and the guy there kept dancing around the price, trying to create value to justify a price that remained untold. He kept pressuring me to "come on down to the admissions office". I am sure they are top notch, but sometimes a $4,995 price tag just isn't doable.
I called Advance School of Driving two days in a row, but the one person who is trained to talk to new recruits, goes home early, and apparently is off on Thursdays. No one else was willing to even say how much it costs.
I called Premier Driving School (a CR England operation) to find out if they'll take my $$$ as a student that just wants CDL training, that doesn't intend to work for CRE (they won't allow pets onboard), and that was a no.
I'd call Western Pacific, but they're in Modesto and I live alone with a small dog that I can't afford to board for 3 weeks, so I'm hoping to find a decent mid-range $3,500 school in Fontana, CA I can commute to.
Have you had any luck? We should put out heads together and share intel bro.:smt102 -
You have United http://www.drivetrucks.com/ which I think is about $4,000 and TGA Truck Driving School which might be the same but when I trained I paid $2,999.00 http://www.catruckschool.com/

Some of the $1500 schools use 6 speed trucks that have trannys that are synched and you don't need to double clutch or rev up... also, they use 20 foot trailers... USELESS because the moment you get a job at ANY OTR company they WILL make EVAL you and you WILL NOT be able to DO A SINGLE THING with an unsynchronized 8 speed transmission and a 50 foot trailer and a tractor with a cabin.
America Trucking School out of Corona with SALES offices in Escondido and a web page that shows only BIG TRUCKS is such a SCAMPaluche Thanks this. -
The first football game I remember seeing is when Miami beat Washington in the Superbowl 14-7. I was raised in Northern Virginia so that was bad. Therefore Dolphin Trucking School is bad. Yes I know this makes little sense. But hey what the hell just chiming in. Also I think everyone else posting here is correct, you'll get screwed. Read this message board extensivly and then decide.
Paluche Thanks this. -
The schools actual tuition is $3,995 (check the i-train website; they are actually certified, unlike most schools) They charge that because they try to work with with the community and they are able to get funding from other government agencies.

People should actually visit the school before they start talking smack. They have 9-10 gear trucks with 28, 40, and 53 foot trailers) and have job placement assistance upon completion.

I was actually considering this school since it was on the "recommended" list for Schneider. Has anyone here actually been through it? If so, how was your experience, get a job after? Thanks
