Dolly Pin Defect

Pretrip defect imo

 

Of the literally thousands of trailers I pulled, and seen thousands more, I don't ever recall a pin failure.

I've seen rusty plates come loose, but I think the pin is made from Kryptonite.

 

Wrong pin . They left a pin in place that makes it easier to back up dolly

 

I've always wondered how they do that.

The pup trailer has a turntable instead of a 5th wheel like a converter dolly. There’s a pin you can drop in to lock the turntable so you can back up a set of doubles. The only pivot point would be the pintle hook on the tongue.

 

Thanks pal, I figured that's what was meant. I knew old timers that backed up doubles without that. I figured backing them up was like pushing a chain,,,
