I'm about to sign on with USA Trucking for there Dollar General regional account. Wondering if it would be better to actually sign directly on with DG instead? USA TRUCK is offering $205 a day with full trailer pay of $250. Home every week for 36 with two trailers a week or more depending. Does DG pay more than this a week? I have a interview for DG this coming Monday. But already been approved for my offer with USA. Just looking for the best bang for the buck if I'm going to be doing the exact same job! All responses are welcome! Looking forward to your input!

Edit: Appears they do. I just never have paid attention to a company truck pulling their trailer I guess. According to their website they pay $200 per day for training for someone with no experience. So I would imagine the pay would be better hiring directly on to them, but could be wrong.Brake Fade and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
I saw a DG truck today. I remember looking at it thinking ….wow..I’ve never seen a DG truck/trailer. Just trailers pulled by other companies.

Be careful…most DGs are in rough areas.

I just wonder what these companies definition is of "a day"? It could make a heck of a difference between what you get paid and the hours you put in.

I would almost guess USA trucking will be 100% store deliveries and directly working for DG could be store or DC's or vendor pick-ups etc.

You should search “Dollar General”, in this forum. Plenty to read.
You’re worth more than what they pay. Most DG’s have some aspect of blindside backing. They’re an absolute PITA to get in and out of (customers are NOT going to cut you any slack). There are too many other opportunities out there.Val_Caldera, Brake Fade, silverspur and 1 other person Thank this. -
BZZZZZZZZT you're better off somewhere else. Lexington, KY must have something way better than that.

Congratulations for posting on TTR and asking for feedback on your new job offer. Most drivers don't think to do that. That tells me you're pretty smart.
After 30 days, you will hate that job. Dollar Generals are located in strip malls with almost no room to maneuver a 53" trailer. If you just runover a landscaping shrub, that is an accident. And the store employees can't wait to call corporate for that "accident". You will ding up your safety record, and then finding another job will be very difficult.

As others have suggested above...find another gig (besides "dollar" store accounts/deliveries).
Odds are pretty good that you will hate it.
