I am trying to get on the federal financial aid (FAFSA). Does this financial aid even apply to CDL training course if it's in a community college or is the aid simply for credit courses/degree courses only? I'm guessing yes, but does anyone here know? I don't think it applies to CDL training course as it's a very short course, but it would have been cool if it did.
does financial aid apply to CDL training if it's in a community college?

My father and several other people I have known in the past has went through community college and got their CDL training paid for through grants and financial aid.
Just ask the financial aid counselor at your local school. They will point you in the right direction to whats available. -
I am enrolled at Harper Com College in Illinois. The grant program they had info on was called WIA.
But there was a 6 week backlog just to get into the class that tells you how to start the paperwork!
And then it takes about 3 months before you get any money. That info is from my contact with the school and with two people that successfully completed the acceptance.
I did not have that long to wait. I am selling family heirlooms (coins etc...) to cover tuition and living costs.
But the good news is the program is only about a month.

if your paying on student loans for CDL school, you can also take it as a tax deduction

Yes. And sometimes the Fafsa qualification is used as a precurser to qualify you for state funding as well. I qualified for partial tuition to be paid for thru Fafsa(federal money), so based on my qualification the school paid my entire tuition with state money they had available. Didn't use a dime of the federal money.
