My buddy was there for around a month, to much work moving those pallets, tailgating at the stores. And from what I understood the folks getting the product were not always that helpful, or had the proper equipment to unload in the parking lot. My friend is in his 70's and paint is heavy. This is work for a young man. He worked for Hard Drive out of Woodhaven MI, they have an office at the Detroiter Truck Stop, now Flying J, 21055 West Rd., Woodhaven MI, 48183. I do not have their phone number.
Need4Speed Thanks this. -
I've been with them for over 5 years. What would you like to know?
2 years experience required with excellent safety record. don't worry if you have a slight blemish on your record., referral is helpful. After 3 months you get the same pay as everybody else, about 10% less mileage pay for the first 3 months. I run out of Reno; other distribution centers may have different pay scales. I'm not sure.
Home every weekend for at least 34 hours.
Company matches 100% of your first 6% into the 401k, plus we have a pension plan that they contribute into annually.
44.5 cents per mile plus an additional 7.2 CPM, based on odometer miles.
$20 to put snow chains on, and you will put them on when chains are required.
$5 per drop and hook
$40 to live load/unload backhauls (we haul paint from the DC to the stores, and whatever freight they can find to bring back. If there is no return freight immediately available, we go back empty even if it is 800 miles)
$1.20 per 1000 lbs delivered to the stores, $3.50 minimum stop pay. This is a crappy deal.
I think 9 paid holidays per year, paid at your vacation rate. Vacation pay in your first year is something like $20/hour X 8 hours. After the first year it is 1/5 of your average weekly pay for the previous year.
Vacation days immediately available upon hire, the number is prorated depending on hire date within the year.
Hourly breakdown pay starts immediately upon breakdown. The trucks are leased through Penske, and if the repair is not simple they will tow another tractor to your location for you to continue your runs until your tractor is repaired.
Safety bonus: about $500-600 takehome per quarter
We get paid for most things we do. We don't get paid for daily inspections, fueling, DOT inspections, sweeping trailers,
Reimbursible expenses include tolls, scales, showers, truck parking fees, etc
You have to be fit enough to put chains on, climb over freight to put straps/load locks in the trailer, and unload the trailer at the stores. Unloading consists of moving loaded pallets to the back of the trailer where the store personnel with their forklift will take it from there. Loaded pallets average 800 lbs (our pallets are smaller than the standard 48x40 grocery pallet.)
You have to be skilled enough to maneuver your truck in tight spaces in shopping centers, etc.Last edited: Feb 17, 2018

Im interested in a local driver position out of Miami which I was contacted for. They say its Nights from Miami to Winter Haven DC & back, occasionally a day route during the day. Position says home every night. Is there anything else you can add or tell me about working for CTS ? Thanks
