I am close to closing a deal on a new lease purchase with Lone Mountain Truck leasing, I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with them. I have heard the horror stories about lease purchase programs with large companies but they seem different as I can take the truck to a different carrier if my current deal goes sour. Now I don't expect that to happen as I am signed on to a very small and reputable company but the option is there if I need it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated....

    Thanks

We are a small fleet mainly owner ops we have had 2 trucks with Lone Mountain (one used one new) both experiences were fine. Maybe we got lucky with the used truck we bought never had any major issues other than the usual things that come with a truck at its mid-life crisis (500k mileage)...the new truck had all the bells and whistles, It is expensive(both new and used) but with used equipment after you put in maintenance cost, downtime etc wasn't worth it to us...after 4-5 years we felt it was better to run a new truck and still have some equity when its all said and done. Also with the new trucks from Lone Mountain MAKE SURE you understand the additional cost and fees associated during the first 2 years of your lease. Many people do not understand during the "on board" call when you are ready to sign the paperwork its okay to stop them and ask questions if you do not understand something...hope this helps good luck.

Did you sign a lease purchase (a sales agreement) or a lease option (rent with the option to buy, a walk-away lease)? Just curious is LM offers lease "OPTION" programs.

It is a phone call between you the sales rep and Lone Mountain leasing headquarters where you go through the entire lease contract verbally.

My experience with Lone Mountain has been excellent. I went through LM to obtain a new truck which had some mechanical issues. LM is more the finance company than a dealer/manufacturer however, they were able to get involved and stood behind me through the entire process. They are a great bunch of people to work with.

I bought my first truck through them, didn't have any problems at all. Paid that one off a year ago. They were very easy to work with.

I’m new to being an O/O looking to go to Landstar. I’m weighing the pro’s and con’s of a new truck vs a used. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have always gone with new for the comfort of warranty. However an added benefit has been the improvements in fuel efficiency. just my 2 cents.
