    I'm getting mixed mailings

    the temp print out said
The commercial Learners permit is not a valid for identification purposes and must be carried with a valid texas drivers license

    and the laminated mailing said

it is a violation of Texas State Law to have more than one driver license or ID in your possession.

Is my class C Still valid with a CLP laminated card? if not, If let the CLP expire will my class c become valid again or will I have to apply for it again? and also is the class C totally invalid with a CLP

    thanks

The Permit is not a license, but a permit... you retain your driver license which is a "C" and also carry the permit which is allowing you Class "A".

Simple you must carry your class c anytime you drive anything. If you are in a semi for training then you must have both the Class C and the Learners permit with you. When you pass the CDL test with the DMV examiner then they will punch a hole in your class C "in Oregon they do this" which makes the Class C no good. get rid of the learners permit also at this time. If you have either of those in your possession after passing the CDL testing, then that would be considered having two licenses. Make sense?
