I have been driving for about 9 months now, and i am starting to get blisters on my hands from driving. Like it kinda hurts to just hold onto the wheel.

there are a few spots that are senisitive where they touch the wheel a lot.

maybe that's why bikers wear those gloves with the fingers cut out. to kinda give padding to your palms?

i just wish i could take a week or 2 off of driving, but i can't do that till after 1 year.

That means you were a softy coming into the business. :biggrin_25522:

They'll toughen up. I never thought about it until you said something. I always worked my hands so they were already there when I started. But I remember when I was younger and started jobs like swinging a hammer, where your hands had to adapt. Or even going in the army and getting blisters on your feet. It's all part of being a working man. Be proud of them blisters. :) They'll turn into calluses.

Put some lotion on your steering wheel. :biggrin_2559:

Like CC said they will toughen up. If you were the fingerless motorcycle gloves just take them off when you get out of the truck.

Oils leach out of the soft plastic of the steering wheel. I react to those oils by breaking out in sort of blisters, then the skin keeps drying out and peeling. It's very painful. I counteract it by keeping my hands moisturized with a non oily lotion and wipe the steering wheel down about weekly with cleaning wipes.

Ease up on the grip is also a good one I was watching a new driver once and he had such a tight grip his knuckles were white. I tried to calm him down "he was bumping a dock" and he simple to loosen up a little
