Many of the LTL companies offer a driving school. If you already have have your cdl with no experience they would put you in a shorter class.
Ltl is usually good pay. , bennies, and home everyday.
Do R&L carrier or XPO logistics hire new drivers?

Im going to apply to all of the local LTL places near me and a few other OTR companies that are close by. Hopefully one of em contacts me. I worked at a boat yard for 5 years towing, and hauling boats at ramps and delivering them to customers houses but it was non cdl. I've towed probably close to 300 boats on the road before. I'm going to tell every company I apply to this, but who knows if it counts for anything to them. -
You won't get sent home unless you fail a drug test or were untruthful on job applications:
This company is good and sometimes hires new cdl grads. Sometimes they want 12 mos. exp. and sometimes they hire a new cdl school grad. Do the online app. and maybe luck out.
This company has local and OTR out of MA.

I've seen Calex Logistics and Leonards Express here in Las Vegas. They both haul produce and other freight out of California back to the Northeast.
Calex Logistics also hires new cdl school grads. Some of their produce loads out of California go to the Boston area.

By far, they will be the best paying job out of most anything available; I think $28.00 per hour plus lots of overtime. I think they hire new drivers. It is hard work delivering food to restaraunts, but your body will get used to it. Plus, you’re home every night.
I worked for them out of Rowley, Ma. a couple of years back.pandy44 Thanks this. -

I've contacted Estes, ABF, Old Dominion, and YRC but haven't found anything in my area. I've also considered R&L, UPS, and FedEx, but it doesn't appear they have any LTL openings around here, either. I'm definitely opening to relocating, but I just don't have the money to do so yet, so it appears that my options for CDL jobs around here are food service, dockworker, jockey, or OTR positions. I guess local could be an option, too, but I haven't looked at it yet and don't really want to do it, anyway. -
