this question seems to get more conflicting answers than anything else so i'll try it here

I was told at Orientation with one company that they don't affect your CSA, but this person next to me (who had a comment for everything) called the guy out and told him that he was wrong. I asked Safety and they said no because its not my fault

I was like 300lbs overweight on my steers one day and I called my company and told them they said "just send us the ticket and we'll make it disappear" another driver with the company I work for (who is a supertrucker) told me that they do affect your CSA, so he will actually fight with shippers if they try to load more than so much because they don't care about him if he gets a ticket. (which is true) I spoke with another driver with this company who was hit with an over Gross ticket and he asked DOT who told him no.

do you get any CSA points for being overweight? i'm asking this question ASSUMING that you are just ticketed, not ticketed and then given a level 1 (which is going to happen)

I drive a smooth-bore tank I have been told by a few drivers with this company that if you are overweight on one axle they'll let you go as long as you aren't over-gross. The reason being they know that it will move so its unfair and impossible to calculate. Also with stationary axles they know it can't be fixed. Is this true?

    Please help me, i'm asking

A DOT officer told me once than unless they do an inspection that things such as that don't appear on your CSA.

Inspection - it will show up on your CSA.
No Inspection and just an overweight ticket - it will not show up on your CSA.

Anyone that tells you otherwise... WRONG.

Anyone know if they go against your license? Our company pays any overweight tickets we get.

Some drivers still only load legal weight, others dont. They all tell me it goes against your license, but I've heard otherwise from other people.

I didn't think so either. Though most of the drivers say they do. Of course if I say otherwise no one is going to listen to the youngest driver in the company lol.

overweight tickets have absolutely nothing to do with your license. you'll never see them on your mvr as they aren't a moving violation.

i've had one overweight ticket, that appeared on my csa as i got a lvl 3, the second overweight ticket was nowhere to be found BUT in the court system as a citation.

Ok cool. Since we load our own trailers (hauling fuel local), it's up to us on how much we load. If dispatch sends a load that's going to be overweight it's up to the driver if they want to cut back on the gallons or not. So that's good to know

If overweight tickets went against a driver's CSA or his CDL, I would be underneath the jail. Overweight tickets do not affect a driver's CSA or his CDL in anyway shape or form. Once the overweight fine is paid, forget about it.
