Might be a dumb question but do some company trucks come with a tv? Do you have to always supply your own? Just thinking of things to keep me busy when not driving.

I know TMC supplies there own TV in trucks now, So yes some companies do I would venture to guess not a lot of them do though. TMC uses a 22" and you can get bigger TV's to fit in trucks so you might be better off supplying your own anyway. Unless you don't mind smaller TV's

i've never had a tv in a truck although i have watched a dvd a time or two thru my laptop.Zoolander was the last one and it is an extremely stupid movie.I find it hilarious and will watch it again one day considering i bought the dvd for $1.00-

You have things to keep your busy when you're not driving. Sleep (this one's kinda important), personal hygiene (another one which is important, although there are plenty out here who make it clear they disagree), laundry (another one often underrated by drivers), keeping in touch with the folks back home (don't know if you're married or not, but there's an impressive divorce rate attached to this industry), etc.
A TV could be nice to have, but don't get too hung up on one. IMO, internet access would be more beneficial, especially when, say, you're in the middle of nowhere, Montana, there is no nearby truck stop with the Transflo equipment your company uses, and you need to get your BOLs and logs submitted today in order to see your money in the next paycheck.

This will be more common when people understand that serious trucking can't be done without a hot tub and TV in the truck.

This! A TV is nice but keep the priorities like sleep, bathing, teeth brushing, clean laundry, oh & submitting paperwork/bills, regular calls to the wife/kids (Skype is free & video calls are available on just about any smartphone) eating a balanced diet & avoiding the truck stop buffet... You get the idea. In my experience a TV only ever got used during a 34 hour reset while at a truck stop or a terminal far away from home. It was seldom used then as I suddenly found the time to do all he aforementioned activities.

Oh... oh... & here's another one. Even if you are driving a standard issue fleet wagon from your company how about taking 30 min to an hour & cleaning up the interior? That's your living & working space after all so riding around with 10 piss bottles rolling around the floorboard & chicken bones w/ used napkins strewn about is not the best image to present yourself in. And for the love of God use a trashcan to throw your stuff away in! It only takes a few extra steps to get to it instead in the grass at a rest stop.

All I have to say about this industry is this, if they really want to get a handle on driver retention, a TV, hot tub, cold six pack of Dos Equis, along with the blonde and brunette, and only work 4 hours out of the day so I'm able to enjoy the finer things while stuck in this truck. That will make me enjoy this job better.
