    Got a free Cobra 19DXIV from a friend and I want to tinker with it and try to do my own peak and tune/tweak. What do I need to mess with inside to achieve this? Thanks

    Edit: it was a free radio so if I f up it’s no real loss. Someone please just explain what I need to mess with in the radio to p&t. Thanks

    Go to Cb Tricks and search transmitter alignment for that radio, and if you pocess all the test equipment, go for it.

    There's really no improvements you can make even if you had all the proper test equipment it would most likely be second-hand junk way out of calibration and any adjustments you made would not be accurate. There's lots of good technicians out there that have been doing this for years and have thousands of dollars in test equipment yet they still slightly misalign radios to some extent.
    For most people a stock tune is the best performance they will ever experience and it's all downhill from that point.
