I got my CDL-A a few months ago after graduating from an accredited trucking school. I have hazmat, tank, and doubles/triple endorsements as well as a TWIC card. I've been applying to many different trucking companies (more than 50) all over the country, but so far I've been denied by all them due to inexperience, being outside of their hiring radius, or because of a felony conviction from over 5 years ago.

Notably, the companies that I've been denied employment with (that normally hire new CDL drivers) are:
    Roehl
    Schneider
    Swift
    Western Express
    Stevens Transport
    Knight Transportation
    Kreilkamp Trucking
    Werner
    Bison Transport
    P&S Transportation
    Braun's Express
    Hirschbach

If anyone can think of any other companies I should try applying to, or has advice about getting a CDL driving job, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm close to Boston, MA. I'm willing to drive any vehicle, at any time, in any place as long as it requires a CDL-A.

CDL-A dump trailer jobs that I've seen require experience. I could be wrong, but I don't think that CDL-B dump truck experience would be helpful, as almost all companies seem to be looking for "class a" experience.

The following are carriers you've missed -- that hire felon new drivers on a case-by-case basis:
    • Millis Transfer
    • May Trucking
Note also: the CDL job market is really tight right now, anyway -- especially for drivers without experience. :(

    This is an important question.

back when I had trucks a guy applied and was angry the company I leased to wouldn’t allow him because he had a armed robbery conviction .
I didnt know about it or I wouldn’t have even let him fill out the application.

Convicted for Stealing at gunpoint , and he was mad at me for not hiring him .
