So I was messing around on Ebay, and I seen a Freightliner Classic next to an FLD, and I don't really see much difference, even the interiors and the dashes looked pretty much the same, so what is the difference in these models?

My most favorite cab for comfort/ergonomics and a simple & intuitive dash layout. I've alway believed that if I owned one I could fix the door so it wouldn't rattle.

Yeah, seal it shut for good & climb in & out of window. :biggrin_2559:

Joetro, panhandlepat and Jerry82 Thank this.
  7. My passenger door is the only one that rattles on my 1.7 million mile FLD, and it rattles loudly and often. THere are a few times (that I'll admit to) where I've been in the shop welding and looked with some sort of evil grin at my passenger door with a 6011 rod loaded up.:smt011:smt077:smt077

I've never done it, because I figure it would end up being a pain for me to not use the passenger door some way or another, but oh, Lord, have a I given it some SERIOUS consideration.:biggrin_2559:

Always thought just the classic had the dual exhaust, mounted up there.......

Thought the FLD has exhaust behind the sleeper,

These were some great trucks and it's a shame freight doesn't sell them anymore.

Most fld's have a setback axle so that's another difference although you could get them with a setfoward axle. And i think the FLD HD could be ordered with a setback axle. The FLD HD is basically a classic with a setback axle. This model too, has recently been discontinued about 5 months ago:biggrin_25513:.

Trucks today look like S_ _t.
