Diesel particulate filter cleaning

The DD15 DPF filter cleaning interval is usually done between 250k-350k.

I would definitely stay away from the shops that offer to do it for less than $800. It's not a cheap process.

 

Depends on many things. The actual cleaning is about $200 if it only needs air, add about $200 if it needs to be baked. The rest of the cost is removal, installation, gaskets and doing a filter reset/regen. There are many configurations, some are easy to drop and others not so much. This is why you see a wide range of prices.

We do our own, just send them out for cleaning, but to do that you'll need the software to reset it in the ECM. If you haven't yet, it's a good time to have get the fuel doser cleaned (and SCR doser if you have one). It's a simple job that will save big headaches down the road.

 

around $1500 at freightliner if your dpf-s are ok. you can find cheaper places locally . Ask them how they clean dpfs. Avoid baking dpfs. it shortens dp'sf life. Dealers don't bake and blow. They use high pressure hot air and resonator..

 

I think we have them done for about $450 CND.

 

I paid $550 for two epa10 dpfs at Detroit diesel.. just cleaning, no removal and installation. also paid $200 for new seals and clamps.

 

Make sure the filter isn't cracked when it's cleaned

 

Dealers absolutely bake DPFs.
