I was looking to replace the alternator on my 99 S60 motor and noticed there are only a few options
due to the rather odd mount they use..... Delco-Remy calls it a QUAD MOUNT:

...I'd like to see if anyone ever found some modification to change the mount style so that it can use one of the more readily
available styles (like J180 or even pad mount):
As it stands now, I need all 4 "ears" on this to mount and install it correctly..

I'm running into the same problem. Mine has 270K on it, and I'd like to replace it with a higher output model (will have to add another wire to handle the increased capacity). I'm at home right now, and there are a couple of companies here that rebuild alternators and starters. I'll stop by and talk to them; I'm sure one of them will have a solution. -
$450 new...
Bosch and the others simply don't make this style mount...
Keep me posted. I am looking for something 200A+ output....crc32 Thanks this. -
I run a Detroit in my KW and it had this altenator on it, to expensive. All it has to do is go roundy roundy and charge the batteries, I bought on of those Leese Neville's that freighliner always has a pallet of on the floor selling them for just under $200 and put it on. From memory, as I did it years back, the lower mount is the same and you can make the upper adjuster mount work as far as that other top back mount? I just took the darn thing off and left it off. I have been running it that way long enough to be close to putting on #2 unit now and the pulley is worn out, not sure how long is that? These Leese Neville standard units are cheap enough I carry one in the box all the time, 1 hr to change from getting out to getting back in to leave. Hope it works for you.

Just looked at the new unit, remember this is just a standard unit not high output but it should be the same mount up. Anyway , no pulley, it has the cooling fan on it and the nut. Seems I asked Ray at Kenworth about that and he said they do not put one on because there are to many different ones, made sense. Most of the time if you have yours along with you they will swap out the pulley for you at the shop if you slip back there. I have done it out on the road before without an air wrench but it is a wrestling match. Oh, my pulley fit on the Leese Neville thats probably why it is worn out, 1,140,000 on the ole girl now...

Mine the shaft size was the same, hope yours is too, it should be. I do not know what a pulley costs but I am going to find out in the next month when I replace all of mine for winter. -
I just picked up a new pulley for my 36si....$12.
Wasn't worth the effort to deal with taking the old one off..windsmith Thanks this.
