Hello all,
I own a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia with a dd15 engine. Can some tell me with what engine it can be replace that is below 2006, without major changes?
Thanks in advance.

Nothing is going to be a direct drop in. Besides, its technically illegal to go backwards like that.
FlaSwampRat and mhyn Thank this. -

It is and it isn't. It actually is, but not enforced in the trucking world, in fact it is legal to put a 99 engine in and do away with the eld right now.
Intothesunset and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
You can not put a pre emissions engine in a truck that came with an emissions engine, you simply can not do that legally. It's the same with a car.
You can of course do this physically, just can't be legal.
Do what you wish, I'm just letting you know it cannot be done legally. Although, you may never have to answer for it either. So, there you go.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
Like I said, technically it is illegal, but look at the laws regarding exemptions for a truck having to have an eld, it specifically states a newer truck with an older engine, and people have pulled the engines and gone to older engines to getthe exemption. They are not enforcing it and never have except for a few celect states.

I thought a "business" could build 300 gliders per year? So a factory emission made truck can not be retro fitted with old engine? Well I guess old iron truck bone yards will be picked clean in a year.
