Truck has lost power, loss of MPG, can hear a fluttering in exhaust when jaking down a hill and start easing back into the throttle, best way I can describe it is like a choke on on an old pick-up truck? I originally was told that I had a restriction in the fuel system or getting air in the fuel system! I've replaced every fuel line and fitting on the truck, other than the restrictor fitting and the chevk valve! I've replaced both fuel filter housings, and fuel pump, everything was replaced with new parts! Still nothing has improved whatsoever!!! So then I was told I had to have a bad injector seat! So I then replaced a new head and 6 new injectors...Still no luck on fixing my problem or wallet I bought a new Air Dog Fuel System and STILL NO FIX! Between Detroit and Freightliner repair shops I could've darn near bought another truck or at least a couple brand new engines

Have you had it pressured tested for a Charge air cooler leak???? What about changing out the turbo boost sensor????

I would check the turbo boost sensor first.. If that doesn't work have Detriot look at the ecu that can sometimes cause loss of power..

Do you have a pyro? I agree with wonderdog24, make sure your ataac hasn't bursted wide open. Make sure something weird hasn't took place with a muffler causing a serious restriction. If nothing is found at either place, I would go back under valve cover and start looking for something that was missed in parts swap over to new head, or something that was set wrong etc.. Make sure you don't have something collapsing on intake air side of system or ataac boots, also.

Does it have a wastegated turbo? It will cause serious lack of power if stuck. Rather cheap fix to.

Yes I have a wastegate turbo that is a year old and I plugged vaccum line off that works wastegate so I get the full turbo boost........Is the ECU the same as the ECM? Cause I have changed the ECM

Yea. I had my ecm changed and I guess they didn't program it right and it choked everytime in 8th gear but picked back up and I had it re-programmed and it worked fine.

What gears is it showing power loss in? Is it only top side of the tranny? Only on hills with a heavy load on? Need more info from you to suggest anything.

    CellNet and Ladytrukr Thank this.
