My valve cover stickers are worn in the areas that probably have the info I need so im not sure.
Kenworth looks at me like a deer in headlights when you mention detroit. they have zero info and are worthless.
There are 2 different models made in 2000-2002 the MK and the BK and it depends on which camshaft # was in
the engine as there are 2 different values for injector height and jake brake lash.
Can anyone look this up by engine serial number? How to find out which camshaft and Jake brake I have?
Engine is 12.7 Detroit, Man date - May 2000
500Hp premium model
Engine Family - YDDXH12.7EGL
Serial # 06R0599317
Detroit 12.7 - how do I determine what model i have for injector height?

You can call the 800# for Detroit. They should be able to tell you.

Adjusted everything today, intakes were tight with zero lash, exhaust were ok. injector height was a bit high. idles smoother. However my jake brake only worked on setting 1 and 2 and then 3 didnt do anything more, and none would really slow the truck down at all, even on flat ground it did absolutely nothing.
Front jake brake broken.
I need a front 790 jake brake, mine broke the retainer ring right out and the pushrod was laying in the back of the head.
Anyone know a reasonable place to buy one or anyone have an extra? Part #028367 model 790 Front.
