Pittsburgh power can get all of the power you went. It's not cheap, maybe 600 hp.
-
I think 600 hp will blow it up???? Thanks.
tnpete Thanks this. -
Did they not stop making the 11.1 in what 1998? If that is right he would have a 12.7. That or someone has put the 11.1 in the truck.
They say the 11.1 is only rated at 365Hp. But some were up-rated to the 400 HP rating. Detroit did it to a bunch of used trucks. To make them sell better, or that's what I have read.
My 1995 11.1 started life as a 300 HP engine. Then when the ECM was changed out. They had to put the DDEC-IV ECM on it. And from what I have been told. You only get the 400 HP rating with that ECM. Buddy of mine is going to hook it up to his Pro-Link. And then find out what its rated at now for sure. -
Yeah let me know. I think 400 hp is Max for the 11.1...so I heard.

I ran the first year 11.1 . Truck was 2 years old then. And Being it was a O/O truck. Had it cranked up at Detroit in Memphis Tn. Have not ideal what they set it at. But Man did that little engine pull and run.
I could hang with most trucks. Top speed was 87 MPH on it. Fregihtliner and 10 speed trans. And it pulled great also for what it was. Pulling the little hill on Hwy 157 in Al before you get to Cullman Al. I could pull it in 7th gear. That was back when it was 2 lane until you got to the hill. Battle Ground Mountain is what the locals call it. Not a giant hill, but back in the late 80's it was a pull.Rideandrepair and Mississippi129 Thank this. -
I'll call Pittsburgh power and see what they say. Thanks

Very economical engine.Fuel sipper. Wouldn’t want to change that or spend a ton of $$$$ trying to make it what it ain’t. Why not run it and build a 12.7 with all the fuel savings

You can do everything to a 11.1 that you can do to a 12.7 or a DDEC 4 14L. Ecm tune, bigger injectors, bigger cam, bigger turbo, high flow exhaust manifold etc. You're not going to get as much power as the bigger displacement engines but you can still go at least 50% over stock and still have a reliable engine.
RubyEagle Thanks this.
