I tried searching for this info but I couldn't find it. What is the hourly rate for detention pay at a shipper? I understand the first 2 hours don't count. I've been stuck at a shipper for 9 hours so far.

Usually at least 25/hr but 50/hr at good companies

If its an appointment you have to be on time and detention begins two hours after that appointment time and pays $25 an hour to a maximum of eight hours . You must also reply to the hourly Qualcomm messages although what you put in the reply is inconsequential .
Don't bother calling your DM . Its pretty much an automatic procedure . -
The amount varies by customer for me. I got $50 for an hour from one last week, but also had to give them 3 hours.
Pulled a JBH load last week, and it was no hassle, paid extremely well, and I actually got loaded before my appointment time. On the second page of the contract there is a number to call to report your arrival to them, this number has to be called and you logged in with that department, not the broker from JBH you are dealing with, OR all bets are off.
When I pulled refer the detention was farking ridiculous. I was at HEB in San Antonio once for like 14 hours. That company guaranteed detention after 2 hours. Well I got 6 hours, and was told if I wasn't happy with that to turn in the truck.
Good luck.
If your a company driver your up against it. I think it's better once you get your own rig.
