2019 Pete 579 4 axle heavyhaul daycab with 42k miles. The fender is made out of plastic & attached to the frame in front of the drives. Both fenders developed cracks at the top of the fender where the mold changes shape for the tubing & one fender completely failed. Had both replaced by PacLease & noticed other trucks in yard like mine with same cracks.
Checked others in my company yard & yep hairline cracks in the plastic all at the same spot.
This is definitely a weak spot in quality on this truck
Defective quarter fender design on 2019 Pete 579

Did you say plastic on a Pete. What's up with that, probably needs plastic surgery. Maybe some therapy do you have dreams over your childhood playground experience

This is not a manufacturing design flaw with Peterbilt. Its a design flaw with the fender manufacturers design. Switch over to some regular stainless steal fenders and this problem will be fixed plus the truck will look better. Are these quarter, half or full fenders?

Hey, y'all; new here and have 2 questions about this: anybody seen this cracking on any other trucks besides the 579, and what brand of fender is being used to replace the cracked ones?
KB3MMX Thanks this.
