DEF level/quality sensor in pretty much any make of truck is a high failure part. Get your truck scanned to see what the code is. This is something you cannot continue to drive with as after a certain amount of time the engine will derate itself to almost unusable status.

It is a normal condition when a SCR/DEF(emissions) fault is active for the gauge to default to empty and the red light to flash. It is not ussually an indicator of a malfunctioning DEF tank level sender itself. As already stated need to hook up to troubleshoot.
spsauerland Thanks this. -

pushbroom, spsauerland and Heavyd Thank this.

Why if this engine is deleted do you care if the DEF gauge is flashing or even if it works? Second, why would you even check to see if the tank is full? Should it even matter? I'm not a emissions delete expert but isn't that the point of a deleting in the first place?Heavyd, spsauerland and pushbroom Thank this.
