I know a few dealers around me charge the same, essentially 2hrs of shop labor
-
I thought it was more expensive than that.
For this much money do they just blow air through it or theyre actually baking it and blowing out ashes. -
-
Mitmaks dpf is blown out or baked. Def filter is replaced and tank cleaned. Wich one are you actually talking about?
-
DPF filter. Ad was $200 to clean DPF filter, so I thought it was more expensive than that.
-
That's cheap but it may not include gasket or new clamps. The cheapest I have seen it in California was 499 plus gaskets.
-
Shop replaced DPF filter on my truck last year and it was$1500.
I asked how much would be to clean it and was told about as much as replacing it. -
I have no dog in this hunt, as my truck has neither DEF or DPF (or EGR for that matter), but it would seem that there ought to be a market for replacing a current DPF filter with one that was removed, cleaned, inspected, and certified from another vehicle. Kind of a "reman" kind of exchange deal. It might save some cost over a totally new replacement filter.

I remember seeing a Volvo ad for this exact service but not sure if it ever worked.
