Got a 16 cascadia dd15.
After the truck sits for 10 hrs or more the truck will not start without starting fluid.
Can prime the fuel system 1000 pumps makes no difference, it's been doing this about 2 months now so we know it simply takes a very very small spray of starting fluid and it runs like nothing happened.
No voltage issues no codes, no metal in the fuel filters.just don't understand its almost like the engine needs that jump in rpm to trigger the injectors to fire.
Any advice is appreciated
Dd15 no start without starting fluid

Perhaps a suction side air leak in the fuel lines from the tanks to the fuel pump. If may be a large enough leak that the hand pump cannot over come it, but small enough that once it is running the main pump has enough suction to overwhelm the leak.
If your truck has the fuel shutoff valves, I had a seal leak on one of the valve stems due to the weight of the hand control rods that go to the actual valve pounded out the stem from the side loading on it. -
Sounds like a bad Davco check valve. If so they are about thirty bucks and can be changed in about ten minutes.
See if the filter is empty after ten hours of sitting. It shouldn't be. -
It's not a fuel leaking issue, got pressure as soon as the engine turns of I believe 70psi (have to go look at my notes)
Thing is once you give it the slightest spray of starting fluid and the engine picks it up and the rpm bumps up for that split second to around 600 rpm or so it fires and immediately runs normal.
It's almost like the ecm doesn't fire the injectors until the truck has that rise in rpm from the starting fluid. Definitely a Strange situation but I do know it's not a fuel loosing prime situation also I can watch rpm on diag link while cranking,
You can prime this thing all day by hand or pump, you can spin it until the Batts die but no start without the slightest starting fluid -

There is a pressure relief valve on the end of the fuel rail. Those go bad sometimes. I don't remember what they cost but it isn't much. It's also possible an injector could be leaking. You would catch that with an oil analysis. There is a check valve in the fuel filter module also.
Did you say you have the DDDL software? There is a fuel system integrity test you can run. It measures the fuel pressure leak down rate after you shut the engine off. If you take it to the dealer with this complaint that is most likely the first thing they will do. -
