I've got a Western Star with a DD15 automatic that has fuel issues. Truck shuts down on the highway when I'm driving randomly, loaded and unloaded.
    Truck goes into neutral
    Rpms fall to 0
Cranks but wont start after shutdown while driving
Just got new batteries and there are no voltage issues. There are codes for fuel rail pressure.

Recently we found that the water separation unit was empty and adding fuel then priming got the truck to start and drive but only a few miles till it shuts down again.
Charts were looked at after test drive by dealer and it matches what is their normal.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Check valve in the fuel/water separator. Just had an O/O the had a service done at a T/A and they cracked the stand for it.

Water separator being empty kinda leads me to believe you have a cracked or kinked fuel line or something from the tank that is sucking air or restricting fuel flow or something wrong with the separator as mentioned above.

I drove a 2010 Freightliner with a DD15 that would randomly dead miss going down the highway about once or twice a day.
Also, fuel would run low in the water separator. This went on for weeks. No one could figure it out.
Finally one day, one of the fuel rails failed and fuel went everywhere.
You might check for fuel leaks.
Edit: The dead miss was that it was sucking air.
