In my research of owner/operating I keep seeing stuff about day cab guys. There doesn't seem to be much information out there, as most guys are or atleast appear to be OTR. For those of you who are day cab o/o's,what's your schedule like and how much less (or more) are your annual cost compared to an OTR. Is your home time that much more or about the same? What's typically available to haul for a day cab guy ?
Thanks!

I' wondering about Pepsi, or hauling Poland Springs. But my thinking that a day cab would be a little cheaper is way off -
I am day cab flatbed.....I go anywhere anytime so my schedule is wacked and random but I love it. I find hotels with trucker rates (38.00 to 68.00) and try to figure that in to my rate. Seems to be enough freight when things are good anyways...I haul a lot of different stuff.
I am home every night or at least every other night as I dead head home for more loads.
I would say costs are waaaaaaay less than anyone OTR.
My biggest expense outside of the obvious is my once or MAYBE twice per week motel room...Dieselmydrug Thanks this. -
