So what is the main difference between these set ups for a OO that runs spot market dry van? DAT Power Select is only $50 more a month but $50 x 12 is $600 I could use in my pocket if nothing extra worth while. Would love to hear real world experience instead of a sales man on the phone.

I switched from Power to Edge Pro and the basic Edge back and forth, back and forth, back and forth....until I decided to stick to Power for good and don't think I'll change it any time soon.

For that $50 more you have ability to do multiple searches and the search results are live vs TruckersEdge Pro where you can do only one search at the time and and the result is a snapshot of the moment when the search was executed, it won't dynamically change. That's the biggest difference and that's why I changed from TruckersEdge Pro back to Power for good.
Also, in Power you can filter out the brokerages of interests e.g. I want to know all postings by JB Hunt and XPO and nobody else. I don't remember if it that was in TruckersEdge Pro.
The difference between the cheapest version for $50 to Power version for $150 means $1200 of savings per year, but in theory, if Power enables you to find at least one load ahead of others, the investment will pay for itself. That $600 seems nothing to ponder about.
For me, the most important thing is to have a tool at my disposal which gives me better interface and ability to create a live search array of places where I could go and potential reloads from those places. I don't even use DAT as the only source for booking, I often go to load boards of individual brokerages but I am willing to pay.
The spot market for a dry van, especially for inbound loads to Chicago area is the best exemplification of the term "rate race", I the fastest rats have all the best toys available.

I also tried Internet Truckstop Pro ($150) - but Power beats it hands down.

AlexanderK, Vitkouski and Siinman Thank this.

Thank you so much. This confirms my thought that it would be well worth the extra 600 a year. I heard truckers edge was a little behind so that worried me. Unless anyone else chimes in with something more positive I will be going with power.

I think that the recent upgrades (in 2018) to Truckerdge were excellent. The prior version seemed so old that it almost smelled foul (as if made in the first decade of 2000's) but the changes mostly had to do with the interface and looks. Unfortunately, DAT purposefully wants to reserve some crucial futures to Power version of their product and charge for it accordingly.
If you decide that it is too much money or you realize that you don't utilize the tools enough, you can always downgrade to TruckersEdge version, even to the least expensive version of it at any time. You can do it even after a few days and they will prorate the days of usage. Nothing to lose for trying it out.

Well that is great to know. I figured it would be no big deal to change but even better if the prorated it. Nothing but a few bucks to lose going that way. Will start off with dat and change within the week if I don’t like it. Chances are based off your post it is what I am looking for at least until I get some running time with a few good brokers and maybe my own clients if things work out.
