so I started driving truck about 5 months ago. over the summer doing mainly tanker but now that the weather is getting colder I'm doing more flat bed. and in doing flatbed I am doing a lot of tarping. one thing that I have noticed is I get really dirty. I mean so dirty that all you can see is my eyes and teeth. is this normal? does everybody else that drive flatbed get really dirty when they tarp? is there anyway to keep the tarps clean so I don't get so dirty? or is that just part of the job?

Tarp something that spreads your tarps (ie an 8' load for 8' tarps) and go thru the truck wash. You're likely to get a bit dirty here n there, but your tarps must be filthy if your getting as dirty as you've described

I use long sleeve shirts and gloves and hat.. then after tarping take a shower, if not near a truck stop then clean up with baby wipes, change clothes and keep hydrated.

25 years and the only way I have found to keep from getting dirty with tarps is new tarps but that's way too expensive.

I've spread mine out in the yard and washed 'em with a truck wash brush and soapy water when they get a little dirty.

Gloves, coveralls, ball cap ( or sombrero in the summer), safety boots, safety glasses.

Wash the tarps when they are on a load once in a while.

There is no way to avoid tarps getting dirty. You can wash them every now and then. I know one guy who takes his tarps home, spreads them out and then washes them in his back yard with soap, water and brush. It helps to keep them clean, but when you tarp a load you will get dirt, grease or whatever is on the product you are trying to protect. If you pull a flat bed, you will get dirty.

I carry light coveralls, sometimes use. Take a shower immediately after tarps before heading down the road.
Also helps to keep your tarps in a box, out of the weather.
Yes it is normal to get dirty on a large tarp job.Tarps are dirty, bungee's are dirty.
Not sure it is normal to get black from head to toe. Maybe try to keep from getting under the tarp.
