Quick question: I had a entire load get rejected due to spillage of product. They never found a cross dock to find another home for product. So they disposed the entire load. Either from loading error or from driver error. My question is what happens to the driver at this point? Does it end up the drivers MVR? Is the driver held responsible? Is the driver going to get fired? What should the driver do in this circumstance.
Damaged and rejected load, is the driver responsible?

Was it a live load or was it preloaded and sealed when you picked it up?
If live loaded, did you take any steps to secure the load?bad-luck Thanks this. -

It will be a claim on your cargo insurance.....absolutely nothing to do with your MVR
bzinger, okiedokie, Farmtractor9900 and 4 others Thank this. -
So basically if the driver is a company driver it has no effect on the driver what so ever?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
If the load was secured by you, how did the spillage happen?
-
Other than his company may run him and possibly put it on his DAC report no.
Even if they do put something on his DAC their are plenty of smaller companies that don't look at thatbzinger Thanks this. -
Supposedly it was a “driver error” but they’re fighting it cause the load took 12 hours to load and then secured by the driver then spillage fell towards the cab
baha Thanks this. -
Mvr?
The government doesn’t give a rats rear about the condition of any cargo as long as their were no accidents, no spillage onto the road, and no tickets written.bzinger and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
But, the load went forward and not to the rear?
You can not reasonably secure anything in that direction.Trucker61016, Doealex, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.
