Hey Everyone,
Wow, this is a tough industry and I'm new. One mistake can take you out of working for the best companies. Anyone know how I can receive the above report? Am I even spelling it correctly? Is this the industry wide reporting system? Can I fight a ticket in court without an eye witness to the incident?

The information that is on your DAC or PSP could mean the difference between landing your dream driving job or not. It’s importation to know what’s on your record, so that you can report or contest errors. By law, you’re entitled to one, free report each year. Just as there are errors on credit reports, errors can be made on a driver’s CSA (PSP) and DAC reports.
Many of you have written to us wanting to know how obtain a copy of your PSP or DAC reports. Drivers are entitled to one free report each year.
Request a copy of your PSP Record
- Access your driving record through the Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP). There is a fee of $10, but you’ll have immediate access to your data.
- Submit a Freedom of Information Act request to the FMCSA, free of charge. This process can take up to 20 days.
The PSP contains data from the FMCSA Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS) database. This includes inspection and crash information that is uploaded into the system by federal and state authorities, going back five years for crash data and three years for roadside inspection data. The federal record does not include conviction data, local violations or personal driving record data.
What if I want to contest the information in my PSP record?
Reviews of violations that are adjudicated in the State court systems do not automatically result in a change to any Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)-released data, which includes PSP data. In order to have a violation removed from the PSP record, a motor carrier or driver must file a request for data review (RDR) in the DataQs system. When an RDR is made through the DataQs system and the request is granted, the organization responsible for the data makes the appropriate changes. The record is then updated in MCMIS and within 30 more days it will be reflected in PSP . Users may only use the DataQs system to request a data review on data used by FMCSA. The web site for data correction is https://dataqs.FMCSA.dot.gov.
What type of information can be contested in my PSP record?
If a PSP record contains inaccurate information, then that should be brought to the attention of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation by submitting a DataQs request for data review. The web site for data correction is https://dataqs.FMCSA.dot.gov. Violations that appear on an inspection report can be reviewed for accuracy on the DataQs website. Citations issued to a driver as a result of an inspection or traffic enforcement cannot be submitted to the DataQs website for review. Crashes that involve a commercial motor vehicle are reportable to FMCSA, even if the driver is not at fault. Drivers cannot request a review of a crash event due to no fault of the driver.

You may request at any time a free copy of your background reports (if any) previously prepared by HireRight, and/or your active database files (if any) maintained on you by HireRight, by completing and submitting the form below.
CDL drivers also may use this form to request a copy of your DAC report/file. HireRight will also provide you a list of all HireRight customers who may have received your background report during the last 2 years.

I got my DAC/hireright 3 days from the date of request . Very easy and free . It came in an email with an encrypted link and I printed it out
PSP report is $10 for instant access or you can submit a request for free and wait . That took about a week
PSP is more important than DAC . Most big companies report to and look at DAC ,, EVERYBODY looks at PSP including the insurance companies

Also Covenant revealed themselves as a consortium of 15 mega carriers who maintain a sort of private DAC among themselves.
Because Covenant sent me home WAY back in 1996 for a botched orientation on the first day after 4 hours, all 15 companies in that group will refuse employment to me. Not that it matters a whit. Ive already made my own path that excludes them.
Another issue to consider.
IF you were in a bad situation with a hostile company, you can be blacklisted. In indiana one company lost a serious case when I was awarded unemployment for quitting for cause. (They starved me out.) So... as per indiana law they are allowed to verbally say that I am blacklisted when called up by future employers I applied to on the phone. BUT NOT ALLOWED to write that word anywhere. I checked with all employers I apply to and if I catch this company writing that one word, I can go to Indiana Court seeking a summary damages. I might end up owning them lock stock and barrel.
That took about 10 years to resolve. When DAC finally ended that company as a employer in my required trucking past. So it matters not anymore. I no longer care about them. They did their damage.
You need to build a record in writing exactly more or less what you did going back 10 years of your life without any gaps to give to any employer. If you were home caregiving for a ill parent, put that in there. The important thing is no gaps. (Homeland Security is indirectly interested in this info) -
I had an issue with Covenant as well . They reported on my DAC that I only worked there for 3 months and was not eligible for re-hire so that killed me while I was looking for other jobs that use DAC ..
Took about 2 months to get that cleared up ,thank goodness I kept all my paperwork , paystubs , fuel receipts , etc for the 1.5 years I worked there.
