D13 Power Adders/Upgrades

    Hey guys, Was wondering if there is any positive power adders or upgrades to pull some more power out of a D13. Can the factory holset turbo be upgrades to a he551 from the 431, what's a good company to have tuning done as well. Thanks

    as far as i know in us if it comes to volvo no one wants to touch volvo when it comes to upgrades.

    I'm with nasriza on this one. And as far as the turbo goes if you don't do other upgrades like the manifold and flow through mufflers to increase air flow it won't do much good. Might call Pittsburgh Power, thy may be able to help but like nasriza said no one can rely do much with one.

    PDQ performance. The Blixxton 200 will also work on D13 motors. That is why I havent gotten rid of mine yet. (In case I make the jump from d12 to d13) I did a tune on my d12 on the computer itself so I am not using it anymore.

    Was the power gains very noticeable with the blicxxton 200? And was there much of a mpg gain, I know what they claim but everybody usually exaggerates, I have a d12 and was considering getting one

    Agreed. I had PDQ on my D16 it was awesome!! They do plug and play boxes or full ECM flash....

    I've always wondered.... They look identical

    The Blixxton box is nice for heavy pulling. I had it on the the 20% increase and it seem to pull and pull and ....... er pull. Problem is your EGT's get out of control in a hurry. Which can be fought with a boost and EGT gauge. I purchased mine from OTR performance which also has a power box setup similar to PDQ's. They are both great companies to deal with.

    Hey Guys, Sorry it took me so long to get back on and respond. Been a crazy day, However thanks for all your response's. Well in the minimal time I had to do some research on the turbo, I figured out that I believe the D13's were set up with HE431VE's. Difference is in pressure's, 19 for the V, 29 in the VE. The V Was offered in the Cummins, and VE in Volvo's. Same with the 431, 531, and 551. All VE were in Volvo’s. I know its a far fetched idea, but i really am liking my Volvo and would like to dress it up with some power adders other than tuning, being that the 431 is a great turbo with much potential. Is it to out of the idea to up it to a 531, 551 which i believe are found on the D16. Could you swap the Exhaust mani, Intake mani, and injectors with a tune and a k&n swap in filter and awaken some crazy unnatural D13 beast.

    They have to do some crazy things to the engine's of these truck in the UK and Sweden. Why cant we lol
