Just 2 days ago I noticed that the truck is making some screeching/whistle noise when I accelerate and the turbo gauge passes 1/2 mark. I also hear same noise but not as loud when using engine brake( at this time the turbo gauge goes only to 1/4 mark. I looked visually for any broken turbo hoses but I don't see nothing. I thinking about pressure testing but I got to get some adapter . Any one had similar problem?
    Thank you.

I had the same noise when the shaft spent inside my turbo.
I could still drive the truck but it had very little power
    Had purchase a new turbo

Have you ever replaced your mufflers?

When I took the intake tube off of my turbo, I could see the shaft was bent, and the fins had shaved the sides of the turbo. The turbo also head metal shavings inside

I had similar noise last month accelerating and with jakes on, turned out to be a couple exhaust leaks, one at my cac and one on my flex pipe clamp

    Scooter Jones Thanks this.

    I take it that it's not a 05 670 truck then.

Screeching/whistling and low boost, replace oring on turbo outlet and oring on egr venturi tube. Common boost leak areas....

Fresh clamps are recommend because the V inside them starts to spread and doesn't clamp the same over time.

That would be boost leaks, not exhaust if it's CAC.

Exhaust manifold or piping with EGR system would be exhaust.. also common leak areas

I will do the orings and v band clamps on the turbo outlet pipe. I also noticed that the factory intercooler pipe has some metal rings that hold the flex hoses. I found one that I can spin around. I’m sure it leaks there.

They all are free to spin they're not attached but yes they can wear through and leak over time and several hundred K miles.

Now...if you have the black rings that replaced intercooler hose clamps they are notorious for leaking. Cut them off and replace with constant tension, spring style intercooler clamps...
