Anyone own a custom sleeper ? If you do, how do you like it ?

Does it restrict what you can haul ? Gross weight ?

I used to own one. It was a 2009 Cascadia with an ARI 132" sleeper. I loved it. As far as limitations, it really depends on what you want to haul.

I was able to haul with a van trailer, full tanks of fuel and water approx 38K in the box maybe a little bit more.

    I have one.
Love it. It's great having a rear door. Also love being able to take a shower without having to be at a truckstop or wait in line.
My payload is 42,500 lbs. Slightly cuts me out of a few loads but not enough to matter to me.
Does prevent me from going into Canada.
Not sure I could ever go back to a regular sleeper.
Totally changes the lifestyle on the road. Like camping every night in a camper.

When the wife goes out with me in the summer, we tend to take loads to special places to see and take a few days off and enjoy the area.
Did about 15 vacations in this truck last year while getting paid to go and leave.

    VinceL and fireba11 Thank this.

Thanks for the photo Flightline..... Nice rig!

Does anybody have one of the smaller custom sleepers? customkw.com seems to have a great idea.....Factory 86" sleeper with a kitchen, shower/toilet combo and bed. I would enjoyhearing some feedback from anybody owning something similar. Photos would be great if you did the work yourself also!

My Last truck (Volvo 770) put a sink and toliet in it. Put the cassett toliet in the closet and the sink in the shelf under rear window.

Hope it's big enough to see.

Over length man. I drove a w900 with a studio sleeper into Canada, heading out of Canada got pulled into the scales the DOT officer said trucks too long. Let me go without a ticket just a warning.

Canada is restricted to a wheelbase of 240" without temp. permit. 280 with pemit.
Most custom sleepers have well over 300 wheelbase. Mine is 305
