So, I have an opportunity to purchase a 2019 W900, studio bunk, loaded with o/o specs, with a 500hpX15 Cummins, 18sp. Has 625,000 miles on it. 1 owner, great shape.
Price is good compared to everything else.
What are the X15 weak spots?
Will it go 1mil miles if maintained properly?
Any info appreciated.
Cummins X15 1,000,000 mile motor?

If the person you're buying it from can show oil change and maintenance receipts that would be a big deal. Also, that truck obviously has a lot of miles for a 2019, but how many hours does it have?
Coffey Thanks this. -
It doesnt have a pro or blower, all his work was bottom dump, before that he did deck work with it when he first got it. -
bzinger and Elroythekid Thank this.

Engine will probably be ok.
Lots of little other things may go bad, sensors, or such.
Did an inframe at 1,075,254 was platinum inframe plus oil & water pump & new AC compressor plus labor $22,998.95

I don’t go over 12k on oil change, 15/40 rotella w/gallon of lucas. won’t use any oil between changes.
If front seal goes out, it’ll leak oil bad, about 8000 for repair gotta take hood/bumper/radiator whole front cap off engine,
Sounds different til you get used to it, but tuned right, it’ll run/pull.
I’ll buy another one.Last edited: Jul 30, 2022

Cummins recommends going 500,000 before you run the first overhead. If the original owner was dumb enough to let it go 500,000 before the first overhead, I promise you that it won’t make a million before the head comes off!
