I had the same problem. Went and got some grade 8 bolts and lock washers. Made sure it was good and tight. New compressor and all. Didn't like the vibration it had but it was working until tonight. I now have a broken gear cover. Lucky me. Just convert this old junk to sanden before you end up like me.

If you don't know what to get or aren't sure call fleet pride. Tell them it's in their air source catalog. They all have access to it. It gets ordered through MEI . Between fleet pride and MEI they will get you a kit with everything you need for the swap. The new compressor comes with sandwich brackets that basically make a new sanden style compressor slide right where your york used to sit in the old bracket. It's pretty nifty

If you have a detroit it's a little different cause they switch where the ac sits but cummins n14 same old bracket with new compressor and adapters to make it all work. Just got mine ordered.

Sounds like my Detroit another bad Design You could try an inch shorter belt. But tensioner has a torque resistance rating . I’d rather not run too tight. I’ve found hardened heat treated bolts last longer. And locktite helps as Once loose -Snap. I’m still trying to figure a way to beef up bracket on mine. Good Luck . Try looking at other Cummins set -ups on different Trucks. New brackets expensive. Junkyard’s don’t like to sell parts off whole engines hard to find.

I got the kit will give you a deal on it. I don’t like the kit I have as it requires an ear mount Sanden . I converted mine using 1.5X1.5 square tube stock and used a pad mount Sanden SHD with fused clutch (1 model only pad mount only) If compressor seizes pulley still works. Good if alternator runs on same belt . No need to short belt alternator. Any way worked good 1.5” drilled to bolt to bracket and drilled to bolt to compressor gives correct height for same size belt. I went with 1” shorter because my original belt for truck was superseded to one 1” longer supposedly. I’ve got same problem still with bracket needs to be drilled out and bushing installed like the old alternators in cars . Detroit had a kit for mine but can’t find any more . I thought of trying a bronze bushing from hardware store maybe pound it in and drill a bit if needed once play is out keep it tight
