Cummins ISX turning up hp

I would bet it hurts your milage but one never nows till you try, what do you get now? K so you wouldnt now that yet DUH!

 

The higest horsepower you could go with that engineis about 470hp-475hp. If you want to go higher than that then you would have to start swaping parts. You should still get descent fuel mileage. It isn't going to be hard on the engine at all.

 

Be careful... you may exceed the transmission's torque rating doing that. Of course, knowing what model of trans you have would help...

The high hp settings on those blocks give a whole new meaning to crank walk.

 

mine is an 05 475hp with a 13spd and 3.42 rears. i had mine turned to 600hp against the advice of the so-called cummins experts and love it. more power and mpg went up to over 1mpg on some loads and around .5 on the rest. now if i could just figure out how to get rid of the egr hiccup it has. a new egr lasted less than 6 mths and now it's back. this was on going before the computer work so that didn't do it.
