One advantage of my running primarily in the Upper Midwest. All the greenies seem to hide out on the east and west coasts. I have had my emissions junk non functional for over 300,000 miles. Odds of getting checked is about as low as it can be.
Cummins isx egr and turbo problems.

One thing about having a block installed where the EGR tube meets up with the intake manifold is that there is never anything from the exhaust getting into the intake and if the EGR cooler were to develop a leak, there is no chance of antifreeze getting into the intake. But with the block, there is a very small chance that the cooler would develop a leak since there is no hot exhaust going thru it. Didn't have to spend big bucks on a reprogram of the ECM or some other such thing. A simple 1/4 steel plate installed as a block. From looking at everything, unless one could identify the plate as a block and not just a spacer, no one could tell anything had been done. And it is nice to have oil stay cleaner longer and the extra mpg.

i ran from OK to FLand averaged abour 6.8 to7.1 loaded at about 70K again and had to add about a gallon of water when I got there but when I got back to OK it was still full, I think the leak in the cooler my have let the air cavity in the cooler fill with water, this water should be trapped in the cooler with each end welded.
anyone know if this is fix should hold or should I block off the water ports to? -

The day of on the spot inspections for functioning emissions requirements is not far off. Deleting emission's equipment is very expensive, I have heard $15,000 price tags for removing DPF's and the whole smash.
WHEN you are finally caught, the fine is going to cost you way, way more money than the fuel you saved.
Don't get me wrong, I am all for engines with no junk on them, pre 04's, but the truth of the matter is it is a changing world, and we as small business owners, have to change with it or perish. All these systems on the new trucks are becoming more and more integrated with each new model year produced. I would venture to guess we are only 10 years away from the kind of trucks where it will be impossible to remove any emissions equipment.
About all we can hope for is these systems will become more efficient and more reliable. -
Yes, you are absolutely right. Too many drivers think they can get away with it because there is little to no enforcement. These days are numbered.

@Heavyd and Tank33:
Hey guys, I understand you are from socialist Canada and can't stand wild capitalism we enjoy here in US - thats OK, but to help you better comprehand the reality: we keep our government broke for a reason. The reason is that the more money these freaks grab from us, The People - the more stupid restrictions they put on us. Putting up army of carbon-cops is sure beyond broke state budgets.
So, next time you look with envy at our noncompliance - think about how you are buying your increasing law enforcement with your very own income. Not really smart thing to do, or is it hahahaha
