Heavyd this is not zip tied it has square rubber boot around the sensor then 2" metal bracket holding down .It is not bolt type sensor you can get wrench on it, it tied with ECM case just below the magic plug connector, looks like temp sensor Thx for reply

I need to pull the air cleaner assembly & intake piping to get access to it. Heavyd could it be cam position sensor behind the ECM under jake wiring pass connector ? I was having problem truck start then stalls within 5 sec on the 1st , 2nd try starts runs fine happen regularly on hot engine every time I park & restart. That sensor had lot of oil in connection would that cause my problem or is it fuel prime issue on start..My ambient air temp sensor also gave me alarm on temps on engine monitor display ,didn't affect any power . I never had any problems with my Pete 379 N14 celect + this Prostar is driving me nuts with air leaks , sensors, dash switches flashing & air valves push pull connector leaking etc any help will be appreciated thx

Yes, the cam sensor is near the jake harness pass through. Oil in the connector will not cause issues, but a bad cam sensor will cause starting issues. It will log a code for it though, if you do not have any cam sensor codes then your starting issue may be fuel related. Switches that are flashing are an indicator that the system is detecting a fault with the circuit somewhere. Air leaks become very common unfortunately with these because those quick connect fittings do degrade.

Hello Heavyd what is high ambient air temp warning on engine monitor display? how does ambient air temp sensor affect the motor ?does it control the fan on or off what will cause it to give warning alarm. I do enjoy all your posts wealth of knowledge you share with truckers & your time posting info , thanks for that

The ambient air temp sensor is not used for engine performance at all. It is used to allow your engine to idle longer in cold climates if it is programmed to do that. Most trucks with idle shut down have it set for 5 mins for example. If you have cold climate anti shut down feature enabled the ECM will then look at the ambient temperature to decide to idle longer because it is very cold outside. There is no code for ambient temps too high. There are codes for ambient temp signal voltage too high, which is commonly logged with an open circuit. The ambient temp sensor is installed by International, not Cummins and is typically wrapped in the harness near the back of the bunk along the right frame rail.

Hello Heavyd in one of earlier replies you said Ambient sensor is on the harness zip tied behind the ECM but in the last reply you said it is on frame rail behind the cab ? I kind of confused here are there 2 sensor. My idle does not bump up on cold start like used to I now use cruise to bump it up. You happen to have any sensor
pics Heavyd. This is the alarm showing in display when I enable alarms & that odometer keeps flashing every 10 seconds goes off 5 sec then comes back on with {key off }all night, when trucks starts or acc it stops any help on this one alway appreciate your feed back Thx Bro

Ok, you have to pay attention, LOL! The first sensor I talked about was the ambient air PRESSURE sensor. This is used to help the engine calculate fueling based on current barometer readings. The ambient air TEMP sensor that the engine uses is the one behind the cab. Now to further confuse you, there is a second ambient air temp sensor that is mounted near the bottom of the rad, this is only used for your LCD display for outside air temp.
In your driver info display obviously 3212 degrees is wrong. So either it is a bad sensor or wiring somewhere.
