Hello all! I am working on swapping engines in a Freightliner that threw a rod through the block. I never saw the original or replacement engine run, so needless to say there have been some unwanted surprises. The engine that blew up was an L10E, the replacement is an M11. All wiring, sensors, and ECM are original to the L10 engine. The problem I have run into that I am currently working on is that 2 injectors are not firing. Using a noid light, I have determined that the ECM is not sending a signal to the injectors. I have checked the harness and everything is testing fine, and it has a brand new, genuine Cummins Engine Position Sensor in it with no change. I have concluded that the problems lies within the ECM itself (like I said, I don't know any history on it and never heard the engine run with it previously). My question is where do you all recommend sending the ECM for testing, rebuilding, and programming? I need the ECM rebuilt, and would like to actually have it programmed to the M11 if that is possible. Thank you for your time!

I'd try to put a test ecm on it. Might be a pain to find, though.

Midwest ecm repair. I've had great luck with them.

Second Midwest ecm repair
The part number of the ecm from the l10 is probably right for the m11 but the files in it are not unless you reflashed it.
If you haven’t done this it’s probably worth trying if the ecm was fine on the l10.
