How many points is high? To the point where you won't get hired? Could ruin your career?

Companies don't see your points, they can make an educated guess as to what your number would be analyzing your PSP if they ask for one. What I would look for on a PSP are patterns of violations, and then I'd ask you questions about specifically related to those violations to see if you can change or not.

As for ruining your career, you may lose your current job over it but it's not likely to stop you from getting another job. It may ruin your chances of getting a specific job in your immediate future. The best thing to do is inspect your vehicle daily and follow the posted limit as much as you can (well speed when appropriate and you wont get nabbed) .

as a safe rule of thumb. 70. as that seems to be the number dot looks at for a company when they start to think about intervention.

i've heard a couple of companies won't hire over 100 though.

you can't see your points, per say. you have to look at your company that you got the inspections with to figure out the points. and then you have to do the math. cuz the driver keeps his points twice as long as the company keeps the drivers points.

It's best to keep that number low. I've heard a ton of #### about CSA. Something like certain infractions are triple the points, and others (like being overweight) don't even show up.

Personally, I have a clean MVR and a clean CSA. I've been extremely vigilant and probably a bit lucky, especially with those #### marker lights. A lot of companies talk like your CSA points affect them, but remember most big companies have hundreds or thousands of other drivers to offset your score. You have no one but yourself to keep yours low.

I'm to the point to where I don't bother anymore. Why worry and concern yourself. The dice are loaded against you to start with. A warning is not a warning at all.....it's points against you. Some of these DOT guys love to stick it to you. There's no fairness about it.
I had a placard off a loaded trailer. If was windy, so I surmised it blew off. They do at times, that's why I ask for a few more just in case but that didn't stop the DOT pulling me bore to give me a warning about it.
He didn't want to hear I had spares, he had a silly smirk on his face. They just love it.
So no as far as I'm concerned as long as I drive safely, no accidents, I'll just keep on going.
    But YMMV.

Naw, the more you know the better. You should be aware of whats happening to yourself at your current carrier. Learn about the program and you should be fine.

That's right. After 40 years, they can prove Ive received tickets, but they cant prove Ive had an accident so I got the last laugh when I turned it in. Feels great to have rights again! Im Happy!

Exactly. What's the point of writing a warning. Then he does an inspection, and puts as many violations on there but they're warnings on a citation. Doesn't make any sense and I think it's down right wrong. Especially when he tells you I have you a warning so there won't be anything or points on your CSA. Guess he lied because I am a green horn and that was my first time ever getting pulled over. I say if he doesn't put it on the citation as a fine and is a warning it shouldn't go on the inspection. What do I know I'm just a driver...
