Ok here is the scenario: driver gets a level I II III (doesn't matter what level) and passes. The dot officer conducting the inspection initiated said inspection because driver was driving 5 mph over posted limit but doesn't issue a ticket for speeding. Inspection report says no faults found on inspection but does mention the 5 over and specifies no citation issued. Now, when this inspection gets entered into the national database, does it show up as a clean or failed inspection in regards to affecting a company's CSA score?

There are no CSA points for 1 to 5 over.

If it's listed on the inspection form under the violations, it counts even as a warning. It looks like a violation of 392.2 SLL1 general speeding and counts as 1 point, which is multiplied time 3 for the first 6 months. So your company got 3 points, which is minuscule. I wouldn't worry about it, sounds like DOT was being a jerk and just stopping trucks for any little reason.

CSA NEEDS A REFORM!
But in your particular case driver, I think CSA points are geared more for "equipment violations"... so since speeding is a moving violation I think that would translate more into the MVR, but if no ticket was issued then your mvr should be fine. The MVR system is not near as flawed as CSA -
There goes the company's insurance rates going up.

I love how points are levied just for the inspections alone, even if there are violations found.

CSA Points are only applied for violations listed on DOT inspections, and some violations have NO CSA points at all. -

A violation is still a violation even if it results in a warning.
