Cruise Control & Engine Brake Fix On Freightliner Cascadia

I love that cruise and engine brake on the steering wheel. I use those switches all day long. I like that decelerate button which will slow you down exactly one mph per click.

with DDDL you can't monitor switches DL8.00 or higher must be used.

 

w/DLink connect to the truck and make sure you have the appropriate modules connected. And simply go to the "Instrumentation" tab and then the "Switches" template. You'll see the CC enable, resume, set all in green/red boxes. Pretty neat.

 

I have never taken off Cascadia's steering wheel. is it coming out easy? no puller needed?
I have removed century's steering wheel and its not coming out without puller

 

Ya...easy. Did you check your ServiceLit? Here's a copy (hopefully it copy+pastes correctly):

Steering Wheel, No Airbag
Removal
1. Position the front tires straight ahead. If possible,
drive the vehicle in a straight line for a short distance,
stopping at the spot where service work
will be done.
2. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down
the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the
tires.
3. Remove the steering wheel cover module by prying
its corners away from the steering wheel and
pulling the module out.
4. Disconnect the horn and steering wheel switch
connectors. See Fig. 1.
IMPORTANT: The steering wheel does not have
threaded wheel-puller holes. The tapered fit between
the steering wheel and the column is designed
to be removed by hand.
5. Loosen the nut that holds the steering wheel on
the steering column, but leave it on the shaft
until the wheel has been released from the tapered
fit.
6. Remove the wheel from the tapered fit by striking
it from below, at the rim/spoke intersections, with
both hands.
7. Remove the steering wheel nut and the wheel.
Installation
NOTE: Before installing the steering wheel,
make sure the front tires are pointed straight
ahead, and that the steering gear is centered.
1. Turn the clockspring cover clockwise until it
locks, then back off counterclockwise four turns
and align the clockspring marks.
2. Thread the switch and horn wires through the
hole above the center of the steering wheel, and
set the steering wheel on the steering column;
see Fig. 2.
3. Make sure that the steering wheel is oriented as
straight as possible.
4. Install a new steering wheel nut and tighten 33 to
41 lbf·ft (45 to 55 N·m).
5. Connect the steering wheel switch and horn connectors
to the steering wheel cover module.
6. Install the steering wheel cover module into the
steering wheel.

 

*NOTE* Be careful of the clock spring!
